A Minimalist Home Décor Guide

Let’s get into A Minimalist Home Décor Guide. I love the Minimalist décor because it works with just about every décor style there is. When it comes to minimalist, you can make it work with bohemian, Scandinavian, modern, and the list goes on. It’s essential when you are decorating for minimalist décor style that you purchase functional pieces & pieces that are multi-purposeful.

VIBE

When you think about the minimalist décor’s vibe, you think about clean lines and open spaces. The vibe it gives is a calm, zen-like feeling, especially if you decide to stick with the neutral décor scheme typically used with this décor style. Therefore, when you walk into your minimalist home, you immediately feel calm, cozy, and ready to relax and chill.

TEXTURE & FABRICS

So, this is where it gets interesting. Listen, since only a few design elements will be used in this décor style, this is where it counts. Experimenting with textures will introduce both aesthetic value and functionality. So, combining natural wood, woven, rattan baskets, and glass décor will keep your space elegant and interesting. Because minimal equates to less, you want to make sure each piece of furniture plays a role and has a crucial function.

COLOR PALLET

It’s vital with a minimalist decor style to have neutral colors with a couple of accent colors. Neutral blinds help makes the home feel comfortable and relaxed. If you are a person that loves color but wants to keep your home minimal a tip, I will use one color that’s considered to be your favorite. You don’t want to go overboard with the color. Importantly, decorate using color as your personal touch to add to the decor style in your home.

ART

The art is where your personality will pour from, out of you, and directly into your home. The art in your minimalist home can be handmade. Something pulled directly from your character. The art will pull double duty, meaning this is where you can incorporate your color, texture and show off a little of what you can do when it comes to creating. Art can be the focal point in your home, the very thing that gets conversations started.

ACCENTS

In a minimalist home, the natural lighting Is your accent. The accents around the house are also where you can add your focal point and creativity. Nesting tables or benches can be used in a living room to get more seating. Chose your pillows with purpose accessorizing around your more functional pieces can help play a supporting role to the furniture. In conclusion, “Focus on choosing pieces that are sleeker, without too much visual weight to them.”
