A Guide To Industrial Décor

Industrial, to me, is one of your classic styles. It gives the ability to achieve aesthetic balance. When I think of industrial, I think of warehouses and lofts turned into welcoming living spaces. This style fits you if you are into a moody, warm, and spacious look. Industrial style also gives simplicity. The minimal design style manages to create a bold statement. A plus side to this is when decorating industrial-style homes; you’ll have the opportunity to customize the look, picking and choosing the furniture and décor that are completely unique to you and your home. This Guide To Industrial Décor will help you achieve that.

VIBE

When you think about the vibe this look brings, I think about vintage, antique low seating, which gives off a calm, relaxed, and welcoming vibe. The black ceiling to floor windows brings light and nature into your home. Concrete flooring or the warm wood floors gives you the feeling of peace and warmth when you enter the room.

TEXTURE & FABRIC

When I think about the texture of this look, the first word I think of is exposed. What I mean by that is the industrial look gives you the impression of the unfinished workings of a room. You can see the structure of the room how it was built and put together. You see the beams, wood, pipes, and the open shelving. Oh, and let’s not forget the brick walls, which brings the character in an Industrial style home décor. When you think about fabric, this element can come in with the furniture, which the most common style of furniture in an Industrial home décor style is leather.

COLOR PALLET

When it comes to the color pallet, think about the color of black metal, concrete and wood-toned. So, when you think about these color elements, some colors that immediately come to mind are black, white, and grey. The brick walls can add rustic, red, or burnt orange if you want to add a little pop.

ART

Industrial Décor typically features a more neutral color pallet, and because of this, the boldness stands out in the furniture and the art. The art is where the bold architectural features and dynamic textures take the stage. Art is where you can also incorporate the color if you wish to. The art can be a metal wall piece, prints of old designs. What makes industrial so fun and unique is that for art, you can also add blueprints of your loft or building you are in, diagrams, or maps of the area you currently reside. To dd a more textured look, you can go with well-traveled license plates and old store signs. Make sure no matter what direction you take, avoid going overboard.

ACCENTS

If you live in a rental or an apartment complex, this is where you can really incorporate this style and almost nail it. Here is where you can use your pipe shelving, wood, and metal coffee tables, or metal or reclaimed lighting, something that would be easy to switch back once you are gone. Also, keep in mind that the industrial look leans to the minimal side, so you want to make sure you are not over clouding your space.
