A Guide To Scandinavian Décor

There are many home décor styles out there that we can learn and adapt from or in. I love combining different home décor trends to develop a style that makes more of our own. One of the décor styles I love is the Scandinavian Décor style. When you think about this décor style, you think about simplicity, functionality. This style, without a doubt, combines natural materials, especially pale woods like ash and beech, wool and linen textiles, leather, and glass harmoniously. Now lets get into A Guide To Scandinavian Décor.

Vibe

When you think about Scandinavian and the vibe, it gives you calm, organic, and relaxed. It’s minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing when it comes to lines and dimensions parallel. In Scandinavian decor, everything serves a purpose.

Color Scheme

The Scandinavian color palettes are typically hues of nature. When putting together the color pallet it consist of soft hues with calming colors. Remember, nature also consists of warm, rustic, and dark shades. It’s so beautiful to see colors like white, taupe’s, and sages come together to make such a calming and relaxing atmosphere.

Fabrics

This is where you can get creative and wild in Scandinavian Home Décor. Fabrics are where you can play with the different levels of the color pallet and add your textures and patterns from all other the world. Play with your design on your rugs and throw pillows. This is where you can add your linens curtains, your sheepskin throw blankets, and your patterned pillows, and if you like your leathers, couches.

Art

This part I love, and I’ll tell you why, when it comes to Scandinavian, the art extends to more than just the pictures on the wall. The Scandinavian art is textured and abstract that can extend to furniture designs, vase sculptures, and chandeliers. When it comes to the art, we can keep our minds open to the extension of possibilities.

Accents

Here is where you can add your greenery and be creative with your DIY’s if you are into that kind of thing. The accents would be a great place to add your dark pieces if you wanted to incorporate that look into your Scandinavian feel, also tell a visual story here and show your personality through the pieces you pick or the ones you decide to DIY.
